Established
FCC Fire Cert. Ltd. was established in 1997. We are an independent fire safety engineering and consultancy company, we work on a wide variety of project types and size, including hospitals, nursing homes, schools and colleges, commercial and retail developments, Data centres, industrial buildings, hospitality venues such as hotels, licensed premises and apartment / Residential developments and Rapid Response Builds.
Responsible
FCC Fire Cert Ltd. are responsible for developing fire safety strategies for new-build and for upgrading existing buildings, liaising with fire authorities, other design team members and clients, to ensure delivery of cost effective and standards-compliant solutions. We are also responsible for compiling and submitting fire safety certificate applications.
Pro-Active
FCC Fire Cert Ltd. has built a strong relationship with the local fire authority and is best placed to meet the local statutory approval requirements. We take pride in our proactive approach to project completion rather than reactive.
Projects
FCC Fire Cert Ltd. deliver satisfactory project outcomes through obtaining fire safety certification, providing opinions and evidence of statutory compliance for building control/fire authorities, and HIQA (in respect of nursing homes). A key component of FCC consultancy role in projects is liaising with users of the buildings we are involved in. This has been an important part of the FCC role particularly where buildings with existing user groups have been subject to fire safety upgrading works while the building remains occupied, at least in part. In such circumstances FCC has developed strategies, including a high degree of up-scaled fire safety management procedures to facilitate the user groups in the buildings.
Focused
FCC Fire Cert Ltd. is particularly focused on the Building Control Regulations requirements which came into effect in March 2014. With our current on-site experience and inspection protocols the Company performs the necessary duties expected of ‘ancillary certifiers’ to enable final sign off and approvals for projects.
The Company consists of senior engineers within excess of 150 years’ experience combined, one of the management personnel was a former Assistant Chief Fire Officer with Dublin Fire Brigade and another member of management was a Senior Executive Fire Prevention Officer with Dublin Fire Brigade.
Experienced
FCC Fire Cert Ltd. has extensive experience working with the HSE on a variety of projects and currently act as fire consultants for the National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street, the Coombe Women and Infants University Hospital, and Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. We are currently engaged as fire safety consultant for the New National Children’s Hospital, and all associated decant projects at St. James’s Hospital, together with the Satellite Children’s Centres at Tallaght and Connolly Hospitals.
Utilization
FCC Fire Cert Ltd. utilizes an App based fire compliance inspection tool which allows streamlining of inspection reporting and identification of compliance issues and facilitates the rapid distribution of fire inspection reports so as not to cause any undue delays to the contractor. Regular attendance at site meetings in conjunction with frequent inspections ensured that a high standard of compliance is delivered.
Qualifications
FCC staff holds qualifications in Fire Safety Engineering and are either members of or are working
towards becoming members of Engineers Ireland.
Qualifications held by staff include, but are not limited to, the following:

- PGrad Dip in Fire Safety
- Diploma in Construction Technology.
